Ganderbal, Dec 23 (KNO): A Primary Health Centre (PHC) in the Nunner area of central Kashmir's Ganderbal district functions from three rented rooms. Dozens of villages depend on the PHC which lacks medical and paramedical staff, the locals told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). They said the patients have to travel to either the District Hospital Ganderbal or Srinagar in case of medical emergencies. The locals of Nunner alleged that even minor health issues are not treated in the PHC as it mostly remains closed. The people said they have donated land for the construction of a building that is still incomplete even after a decade. “The building needs final touch for completion including doors and windows, but was kept isolated by the authorities for the reasons known to them,” they said, adding, “We have moved from pillar to post with the request to complete the building but our genuine pleas remain unanswered.” An official told KNO that the issue has been brought to their notice and deliberations on completing the building will be held with higher authorities—(KNO)
